I am a 46 year old mother of a handicapped son. He was severely injured in a MVA several years ago. Altho his condition is stable at the present the accident has caused extreme financial problems for our family. My husband works all the time to try to make ends meet but it is not enough. I have not been able to work since our son's accident because I have had to be his full time care-taker. We do not want a hand out we just want a hand up. We desperately need financial help. I want to either work from home or go back to work. ( I was a nurse prior to my son's accident). In order to go back to work I will have to find a way to pay someone to care for my son. In order to work from home I will have to have money for some type of training. We do not have any savings any more. My husband withdrew all of his retirement that he could in order to pay to have our home made handicapped accessible and to pay my living expenses when I moved to another city for 9 months(where my son was in the hospital). As I said, I was a nurse, but just 5 months before the accident I quit nursing and took all my retirement money and savings and invested it in a business that I was trying to start. When the accident happened the business failed and I lost every penny I had put in to it. Our son receives a very small amout of money each month for disability. It takes all my husband makes and all my son gets just to pay the bills and we never actually get them all paid. I just feel so helpless. I feel that I am at my rope's end. Please, please help me!
I am a 64 year old widow and have been unable to find a job. I have over 25 years of accounting experience and unfortunately at my age and with all of my experience employers seem afraid to hire me. I want to work and need to work. I am a hard worker.
